Since the 1930s, the County has been committed to providing support and resources to individuals and families at all stages of life. On June 3, 1975, the County established a social services agency to provide basic safety net services.
For five decades, Alameda County Social Services Agency (ACSSA) has served as a cornerstone of support, providing vital services to approximately 523,000 residents across the County. From food assistance, access to healthcare, services for seniors and adults with disabilities, employment support, resources for Veterans, and child welfare services, the Agency has remained committed to promoting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Through strong partnerships with over 150 community-based organizations, innovation in service delivery, and the dedication of its staff, ACSSA continues to address critical issues and uplift those in need.
