ITD @ ACCFB

Groups from our Information Technology Department (ITD) have been volunteering at the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB). The ACCFB provides food on a large scale to the greater community, and that food is distributed to organizations that assist people experiencing hunger and food insecurity. Not only was it a great opportunity to serve our community, but it was a fun way to get to know our coworkers! As volunteers, ITD assisted with processing some of the produce that gets delivered daily. They took large packages of produce and divided them into smaller packages to be distributed into the community. At the end of the day, volunteers had packaged 32,220 pounds of produce. This is the equivalent to 26,743 meals, or 279 meals from each volunteer that day!
