The Alameda County Veterans Affairs Commission, with support from the Alameda County Veterans Service Office (CVSO), hosted a successful Veterans Stand Down event at St. Vincent de Paul in Oakland on June 26, 2026. The event brought together county departments, community-based organizations, and service providers to ensure Veterans experiencing hardship or in need of support could access the resources they need.
Veterans attending the Stand Down received assistance with Veterans Administration benefits, claims processing, medical appointments, housing resources, and advocacy services. The event also provided opportunities for Veterans to connect directly with experienced professionals who could help them navigate available programs and support systems, including our very own Veterans Service Representatives in our County Veterans Service Office.
The Veterans Stand Down event reflects Alameda County’s ongoing commitment to honoring those who served by connecting them with essential services that promote stability, health, and long-term well-being. Through the collaborative efforts of the Veterans Affairs Commission, the County Veterans Service Office, and community partners, veterans received personalized assistance and compassionate support in one convenient location.
